A unique piece of innovative artwork will be unveiled in Rochdale on Remembrance Sunday, as part of the boroughs World War One Centenary commemorations.
Hundreds gathered on the streets and by the town hall on Sunday as Rochdale welcomed the final stage of an historic re-enactment, 100 years on from when 1,000 soldiers had originally marched to the town from Todmorden at the beginning of World War One.
Rochdale was plunged into darkness last night as council buildings, homes and businesses took part in LIGHTS OUT – a nationwide event to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
