Libraries to host ‘green and friendly’ drop-in sessions

Environmental issues will be top of the agenda at special surgeries in libraries across the borough over the next few months.

From 21 October to 9 December 2013, Rochdale Borough Council is running 14 environmental surgeries at 10 libraries in the borough.

Councillor Jacqui Beswick, Cabinet Member for said: “Whether residents want to get recycling tips, report incidents of flytipping or just find out more about environmental services in the borough our staff will be there to help.”

The surgeries will give residents the opportunity to speak with council officers and pick up leaflets about a wide variety of environment issues in their neighbourhoods such as waste collections and recycling; grass cutting; dog fouling; fly tipping; tree management; littering, public rights of way; untidy gardens/land, and pathway obstructions.
